Cosmological Argument

Seems to me there are only 3 possible explanations for the existence of the universe.

One is it came from nothing; it just spontaneously popped into existence from nothing. But as the video showed, that’s an absurd explanation. The 1st law of thermodynamics, often called the Law of Conservation of Energy and Matter, states that neither matter nor energy can be created or destroyed. Matter can be converted into energy and vice versa. There can be change in molecular structure so that something can become something else, but never does nothing become something. If there was ever a time when there was absolutely nothing then that’s what there would be now, absolutely nothing.

The second possible explanation is that the universe has just always been; it had no beginning, it’s eternal. But as the video showed, just about every scientist today has rejected the idea that the universe had no beginning. In our universe things are moving; planets are in orbit and spinning. And we’ve seen through the Hubble telescope that other galaxies are moving away from us. And the sun and the stars are still burning. If the universe has always existed, everything would have already slowed down to a stop, everything would be motionless, and the sun and stars would have already burned through their fuel and everything would have cooled down and become the same temperature. There had to be a beginning that put things in motion and got things burning.

If the universe did not come from nothing, and if it has not always been here, then it must have been caused or created by something or someone outside of itself.
